Airborne Seniors 2009

Airborne has the largest senior class in it's history! This wonderful group of young ladies are filled with not only gymnastics talent but academic intelligence as well. The road for most of these girls took dedication, perseverance, sacrifice both personal and financial, and many years of ups and downs. The gymnastics journey from childhood to collegiate gymnast is a tremendous accomplishment. Congratulations to all of our gymnasts, their families, and coaches who have worked very hard to make these dreams come true. We at Airborne wish all of you the very best! We will miss you!

This year's amazing seniors:

Janelle Giblin

College: University of Nebraska
Years at Airborne: 5

An interesting fact about me:   "I was a competitive diver for 4 years. My sister was on the World Championships Acro Team and competed in Scotland."

A great memory from my years at Airborne:    "What I’ll miss most about Airborne is the sense of competition that really got us motivated to step up our game, especially at the State meets. In 2008, coming in 1st place after one of the toughest meets we’d had is a memory I’ll never forget because it was a true accomplishment for us as a team."

Janelle Giblin

Arla Rosenzweig

College:University of California Berkeley
Years at Airborne: 10

An interesting fact about me:   "I’m competing for the US in Israel this summer for the Maccabiah Games (Jewish Olympics)." Also, although Arla would like this to remain confidential, we at Airborne are amazed at her “perfect” score in math on the SAT!

A great memory from my years at Airborne:    "My favorite thing about Airborne is how our team can turn the individual sport of gymnastics into a team-oriented one. I will definitely miss going to the meets and having so much team spirit."

Arla Rosenzweig

Camisha Casimere

College:University of California Fullerton
Years at Airborne: 10

An interesting fact about me:   "I am 8 different nationalities and I like to play the piano."

A great memory from my years at Airborne:    "The lifetime friends that I have made and the team bond we have that makes us close like a family."

Camisha Casimere

Mariesah Pierce

College:University of California Berkeley
Years at Airborne: 5

An interesting fact about me:   "I’ve been a level 10 gymnast for 7 years and my favorite hobby is snowboarding."

A great memory from my years at Airborne:    "All the hilarious inside jokes we have with one another."

Mariesah Pierce

Carol Chang

College:University of California Berkeley
Years at Airborne: 10

An interesting fact about me:   "I skipped level 6 and 8."

A great memory from my years at Airborne:    "Growing up at Airborne with my best friends and coaches."

Carol Chang

Michelle Ho

College:University of California Davis
Years at Airborne: 4

An interesting fact about me:   "I’ve danced in a Disneyland parade."

A great memory from my years at Airborne:    "I love the days we dressed up for the holidays, or just for fun, and all the team dinners/activities after meets."

Michelle Ho

Brittany Skinner

College:University of Nebraska
Years at Airborne: 6

An interesting fact about me:   "I performed in my first dance show at the age of 3 in front of 1500 people. I have only been doing gymnastics since I was 8 years old and didn’t start competing until I was 10."

A great memory from my years at Airborne:    "My best memories are the team’s famous scavenger hunts in Las Vegas. Also, when 15 of my family members traveled to St. Louis to see me compete at Westerns."

Brittany Skinner

Tara Harris

College:United States Air Force Academy
Years at Airborne: 3

An interesting fact about me:   "I did modeling when I was younger and was in a Macy’s catalog."

A great memory from my years at Airborne:    "Traveling with the team has always been the best part of competition season for me. I can’t tell you the amazing places I’ve seen in the US with the people I love, building the types of memories that last lifetimes."
